William sucked his lip in. "I've tried, once, but my mother tracked my cellphone, caught me in Dallas." Him and his boyfriend. She'd figured it was the boy's fault and forced them to move. At least he knew it wouldn't happen now.

I couldn't have gone without you. Why did he keep thinking of words he daren't say? It's a waste. Focus on here and now; the rest is meaningless. The secret thoughts will be written on your face, waiting to be read by anyone that knows the language. Focus on the words Mikey may hear. "Anytime," William said honestly.

Mikey beamed "I'll buy the tickets and food you can buy the other stuff." He figured he probably had more money with him than William. "Do you want to pick our destination?"

Their train to anywhere turned out to be a train to New York. William wasn't sure whether to be terrified at the thought or simply excited. Either way, he had Mikey beside him; that was enough to keep him sane.

"They're just strangers. They can't read us," William assured him.
He brought out the notebook. Began to scribble. Perfect purple letters; letters formed brilliantly and never seen.

Mikey admired William's penmanship before looking away. It was impolite to read over someone's shoulders. Mikey took out a worn book and began to read it.

The words were simple. I think he sees through me. It took William almost ten minutes to write two paragraphs. Big words, big statements that contained more then the pages he sent off to his family every now and then.

Mikey laid his head down on William's lap. For a skinny as he was he was comfortable. He looked up and smiled before closing his eyes, grin still on his face.
