'The problem with me is I'm a nerd,' Mikey thought. Since his brother graduated Mikey had been alone. Every day he'd be shoved in his locker and stay there until a janitor would let him out. Wedgies, swirlies, names, Mikey received them daily making life hell.
He found a little beacon of hope in watching cute boys, especially his newest crush. It wasn't just because he was gorgeous but he also let Mikey out of his locker once. That meant a lot. (jump in if it suits your style.

William spent a lot of time leaning against lockers. Mostly because it was a comfortable way to stand, but also because he liked to keep an eye out for kids like this. He had no idea what it was, but he loved to rescue them. Play the hero for a minute or two, and let them drool as he walked away.
Maybe it was just the attention he thrived off.

Mikey sat patiently in his locker waiting to be rescued. He felt a little dumb about being happy to be in a locker. He didn't care it was better than sex ed. and those assholes who'd shoved him in there in the first place. Today they had given him a black eye and broken his glasses.
He pushed up his taped glasses just a little. Today he was going to thank William. He had to get out his old Yearbook to find out what his name was but he figured it be worth it.

William was giggling when he opened the door. He held out his hand and helped the boy step out gracefully, bowing his head and greeting him with, "M'lady. Stuck again, are we?"
He was aware he looked like a fool. He often did. However, he did not mind in the slightest.

"Ah" Mikey stood with his mouth hanging open before spitting out, "Thank you William!" Mikey bowed his head a little to show gratitude. He looked down to see he was still holding William's hand. He quickly dropped it. "Thank you!" he said once more.

William rolled his eyes and laughed a little. "It's what I do, boy," I told him simply. "Honestly, there's onluy one kid I see spend as much time as you in lockers, and that's only because he fits in the gym and music ones as easily as these."

"Well I don't want to spend time in lockers, but it gets me out of dumb classes." Mikey shrugged. He was quietly admiring William's slender frame. "Oh my name is Mikey. I figured if you have to jeep helping me like this you need a name. Are you cutting class?" Mikey asked intrigued.

William shrugged. "Creative writing, I finished the coursework a while ago, so she marks me here anyway. As long as I give her some song lyrics every now and then." William watched Mikey's every move. He watched the way the boy's eyes were glancing over his body and smiled to himself.

"I write too." Mikey proudly declared. He smiled sheepishly before looking down at the ground. "Thank you again."
He felt a little like a broken record constantly saying sorrys and thanks, but he always meant them. Some people could say that was Mikey's problem.
"I'm skipping sex ed. I feel it's pointless." he then realized the error of his wording and blushed.

"Until the day they educate us on same-sex intercourse too, I'll support you in that boycott," William laughed. He was laughing at himself more than anything, though. It wasn't like him to reveal a nerdy side this quickly. He just prayed Mikey would mistake nerdy for flirty.

Mikey giggled at William's joke. "Then I can hang out with you during this period?" Mikey asked hopefully. Mikey looked over at William. He pushed up his glasses before looking back down at his feet. Ge almost regreted asking him, but the smile on his face let him know he was proud of his courage. Where the hell was his bravery before he ended up in a locker?

"If you insist," William smiled. He was enjoying this attention already. "Where shall we chill? Actually. No, don't tell me." William held out his hand before him and closed his eyes, smiling. "Lead on, kind sir."

"Oh okay." Mikey wiped his sweaty hands on his pants before taking William's hand. Mikey led William down the deserted halls. "Okay, we have some stairs. I'll tell you when to step so you don't fall on your beau- face." Mikey blushed. After instructing him up the steps they were on the rooftop.

"I didn't know you could get on here," William smiled. "How? Wow."

"You just have to go past the lunch room." Mikey was surprised he had found it before William. Then again it's amazing what you can find when you're lost you freshmen week. "I come up here a lot." Mikey whispered sadly.
